About Charlotte Counseling Associates

History and Mission

In October 2014, David Sanchez started his solo practice out of a strong desire to serve others dealing with mental health and addictions. David had always desired to have a private practice while in graduate school, and as he was developing the name and vision of the practice in 2014, he knew he also wanted to have associates working alongside him to serve the Charlotte, North Carolina community. David started his practice, Charlotte Counseling Associates, October of 2014. David practiced solo in Ballantyne, NC, but soon felt the motivation to grow his practice.

In 2017, Charlotte Counseling Associates PLLC, moved to a larger location in beautiful South Park on Fairview Rd. By 2018, he remembered his vision to create a group practice as there was a deep need in the community and he wanted to work alongside intelligent and talented therapist professionals. He then made the exciting decision to transition to a group practice and began hiring associates to work alongside him in this office, who all worked together with the mission and vision of helping those struggling with sex addiction, betrayal trauma, couples communication and reconciliation, complex trauma, men’s and women’s issues and more.

CCA Mission Statement

Helping people heal, reconnect, and move forward.

CCA’s mission is to help individuals, couples, and families heal from the wounds of addiction, betrayal, infidelity, trauma, and relational pain—and develop the skills and relationships necessary to move forward with greater health, connection, and hope.

We provide compassionate, specialized, and research-informed care for people facing some of life’s most difficult challenges, including sex and pornography addiction, infidelity, betrayal trauma, PTSD and complex trauma, and relationship difficulties.

We believe true recovery is about more than simply stopping destructive or addictive behaviors. Healing means creating meaningful and lasting change.

For individuals, that may mean developing self-awareness, emotional regulation, confidence, healthy boundaries, and the ability to live with greater integrity and authenticity.

For couples and families, it means working toward restored trust, deeper connection, healthier communication, vulnerability, empathy, emotional safety, and genuine intimacy.

Our goal is not simply to help people survive a crisis. It is to help them understand what brought them there, heal the underlying wounds, develop healthier patterns, and build relationships and lives that are stronger than they were before.

At CCA, we believe people can heal, relationships can be rebuilt, and families can move forward.

We meet people in their hardest moments—and help them find a path toward hope, healing, and lasting change.

CCA’s Shorter Mission Statement: Our mission is to help guide you on the path to hope and healing after an affair and/or sexual problematic behavior

CCA Vision Statement

To be a trusted beacon of hope, healing, and clinical excellence for individuals and families navigating some of life’s most difficult challenges.

At CCA, we believe that meaningful healing happens when clinical expertise, compassion, courage, and genuine human connection come together. Our practice is dedicated to providing exceptional, compassionate, research-informed therapy to individuals, couples, and families facing complex relational and psychological challenges.

While our clinicians serve a broad range of mental health needs, our distinctive clinical focus is on sex and pornography addiction, infidelity and betrayal, betrayal trauma, PTSD and complex trauma, and men’s assertiveness, identity, and relational development. These concerns often affect far more than one individual—they can profoundly impact marriages, families, relationships, and entire communities.

CCA exists to help people move from secrecy to honesty, chaos to stability, pain to healing, and disconnection to meaningful connection.
